This Privacy Policy explains how Company Legal Name ("Modwheel Academy", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use the Modwheel Academy platform (the "Platform"). It also describes the rights you have over your data. By using the Platform, you acknowledge the practices described here.
Effective date: Effective Date.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, username, profile details, and the content you submit. We collect account and usage data automatically, including log data, device and browser information, and pages viewed. We also collect information needed to complete purchases, though full payment-card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
How We Use It
We use personal data to operate, maintain, and improve the Platform; to create and manage your account; to process purchases and payouts; to provide customer support; to send service and transactional messages; to ensure security and prevent fraud; and to comply with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent (for example, optional analytics or marketing cookies), we use that data only for the purpose you consented to.
Legal Bases
Where applicable data-protection law (such as the GDPR) applies, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract with you; your consent; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Platform; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights.
Sharing & Service Providers
We do not sell your personal data. We share it with service providers who process it on our behalf under appropriate safeguards, including: Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record, for processing payments, taxes, and refunds; Cloudflare, for video hosting and delivery (Cloudflare Stream), image and file storage and nightly database backups (Cloudflare R2), and security and bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile); Resend, for sending transactional email and for holding our marketing mailing list and sending the marketing emails to it, which includes the email address of anyone who signs up for updates without creating an account; and Google, when you sign in with Google (we receive your Google account identifier, email address and name) or press play on a course preview hosted on YouTube. If you opt in to marketing cookies, we also share with Meta which pages you view and which sign-ups, enrolments and purchases you complete, along with a hashed form of your email address and account id, your IP address, your browser user agent, and the Meta Pixel cookies. Our analytics run on a self-hosted Umami instance and never leave our infrastructure. We may also disclose data to comply with the law or to protect our rights and users.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function; optional analytics and marketing cookies are used only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw through the cookie consent banner.
Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, then for the period required to meet our legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you; to rectify inaccurate data; to request erasure; to obtain a portable copy of your data; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@modwheelacademy.example. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure session handling. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Transfers
We and our service providers may process personal data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it in accordance with applicable law.
Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to children below the age required to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice.
